The Wooden Shield is a recurring Shield in The Legend of Zelda series. These Shields are usually unable to protect against fire and magical attacks, and may even be burnt by them. The Wooden Shield is usually superseded by a stronger, metallic Shield.

In Twilight Princess, Wooden Shields can be bought at Malo Mart in Kakariko Village or the Hot Spring Shop on Death Mountain. They serve as replacements to the one-of-a-kind and flammable Ordon Shield, the first Shield Link obtains. Wooden Shields are larger than the Ordon Shield but are functionally identical and may also catch on fire. If it catches fire, the Wooden Shield can be saved by putting it away. Like the Ordon Shield, the Wooden Shield is able to block and subsequently catch Arrows, a feature that Hylian Shields are incapable of.

This shield is made from 12mm thick curved hardwood with raised edging. It features solid brass rivets and buckles throughout the design. The armrest leather work on the back has the Royal Wingcrest engraved by hand and is padded with pure cotton and finally fastened with solid brass studs. The large cast iron handle gives the shield a very hefty and durable feel. Also comes with a buckled shoulder belt which is lightly decorated.

The shield size is game accurate and so is smaller than most at only 50 cm high.
